Friday 5/12/17

We always talk about Hero WODS and how important they are to the CrossFit community. CrossFit honors fallen heroes, whether they come from the navy, military, police, firefighters, even teachers, that unselfishly gave their lives for others and/or for our freedom.

Here’s one that has ties to our community. Coach Jeff Bates’ cousin, Tyler Kaplinger’s, a Specialist in the 82nd Airborne, platoon leader, 1st LT Weston Lee, died on April 29th during a security patrol on the outskirts of Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated.

As with all hero WODS, it will be difficult. You may want to quit. When you feel like you can’t go on- remember Weston and his family. Remember his fellow platoon members. Most importantly, remember all of the brave men & women that have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Although CFHQ has not officially named “1st LT Weston Lee” a hero wod, 30+ boxes will be throwing down this week in honor of Weston. Let’s show him and his family how much of an impact one person can have.

Jeff will be Coaching the 5:30pm class on Friday, so come on out and show your support!

“If you don’t work hard towards becoming what you want to be today, you won’t be it tomorrow.”
