Head of Youth Programs
I was born and raised in Massachusetts, contrary to the southern accent. I got married to my high school sweetheart in 2007 and we moved immediately to North Carolina where I worked in higher education for 10 years. I have two awesome little boys who are 3 and 8 months old. We also have a dog, a cat, and newly added 6 chickens! I spend lots of time with the boy and get to do all of their day-to-day activities with them.
In December of 2012, I realized a crossfit gym had turned up less then a 300 meter run from where we were living. I decided I needed something else in my life that wasn’t a treadmill or work. I got off the plane from a visit to Massachusetts and walked into the gym. That was history! I fell in love with the sport, the people, the community and so much more. It wasn’t long before I wanted to give back to the community and I received my L1 in May 2014. I’ve grown a passion for lifting, and working with children in the crossfit community! Its so amazing to see all the member’s kids wanting to follow their parent’s leads.
The best thing about CrossFit is how it changes people’s lives mentally, physically, and emotionally and I am so blessed to be able to be a part of that. To see someone who starts CrossFit and to be able to watch their journey and their personal growth is the greatest reward to me and there is no better place to do that than at BareCove!
