I grew up in Cohasset, and was always very involved in sports. I was a three sport captain in High School (field hockey, basketball, softball) and during the “off” season, I participated in camps, travel teams and clinics to improve my skills. In 2010, I enrolled in a yoga teaching training program, left my full-time corporate job in the fashion industry, and made yoga my career. Through teaching yoga, I have been able to travel, and work with people of all different backgrounds and abilities. I have furthered my education to teach special populations such as children, prenatal and postnatal clients. As an athlete myself, yoga has allowed my body to stay healthy and avoid injuries from overtraining and overuse.
In 2016, I found CrossFit “by accident”. I began teaching yoga for Reebok CrossFit Bare Cove and started taking CrossFit classes at the same time. It only took me a few classes to realize this was what I was missing in my life! As an athlete, I loved the feeling of challenging myself again, working out with like-minded people, being coached, and just proving to myself that I am so much stronger than I ever thought. Later that year, I went ahead and received my L1 and started coaching CrossFit and haven’t looked back since. Coaching has been such an amazing experience and I truly look forward to each and every class I get to coach. Watching someone lift a barbell for the first time, get their first pull-up, or run their first mile without stopping puts the biggest smile on my face and reminds me why I love this “job” so much. I love meeting new people, learning about their background and goals, and helping them become the best version of themselves possible through fitness!
When I am not coaching, I love to travel, drink lots of coffee, stay active, cook, and just live a healthy life. I have participated in numerous triathlons, and have completed 3 marathons (Boston 2012, 2013 and Chicago 2015). I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my husband, Pat, our 4- year old daughter, Madison, and our 3 dogs.
