Thinking about trying an Obstacle Course Race (OCR), but question if you can do it?

Signed up for your first race and need to prepare? (woo!)

If so, our ocr program is the perfect supplement to classes!

You already get an amazing foundation of fitness from our classes, BUT…

to conquer Obstacle Course Races you need to bias the longer range engine and build OCR specific skills (throwing spears, traversing monkey bars, climbing walls, etc.).

A good friend of mine, Rich Borgatti from Mountain Strength CrossFit, just happens to be ranked one of the top 10 Obstacle Course Racing coaches in the world. He’s worked with Sylvain to put together a 6 week program for you guys to prepare for the Spartan Race in May (or any race)…AND he will even coach a class or two!

For you guys, it’s a 2 day program to supplement classes and it focuses on building the OCR specific strength, endurance, and skills needed to perform on race day.

We’ll practice things like trail running, climbing, spear throwing, obstacle immunity, mental toughness and how to avoid doing burpees!

Whether this is your first or fifth race, your experience and skill level don’t matter – we will adapt everything to your individual abilities just like in classes.

Most importantly, this program is about building the confidence to conquer the race and having fun while you do it.

what is this program designed to do?

Our OCR training program is designed to help you build the skills, strength, and endurance necessary to excel on race day!

Build a foundation of strength needed to fight through many of the obstacles.

Develop the endurance to attack the last obstacle as effectively as the first.

Master OCR skills like throwing spears, climbing walls, and traversing monkey bars.

Develop strategies to seamlessly move through and between obstacles.

so, WHAT IS INCLUDED?

Since you are already a member, your program is only 2 days instead of the 3 day program we have for the new folks. 

We want you to come Mondays (6:30PM) and Saturdays (8AM). 

Mondays will be in gym and most Saturdays will be outside the gym.

If Mondays don’t work, but Wednesdays do, that’s fine too.

We are capping registration AND opening this program up to the public. 

We are opening up registration to members first, so grab your spot if you are interested!

how does it work?

STEP 1:
6 weeks of workouts
2 days a week for 6 weeks, you'll enjoy 1 hour classes created to work on the specific strength, endurance, and skills needed to crush that next obstacle course race! All abilities are welcome.
STEP 2:
testing & retesting
We don't want you to THINK you are ready, we want you to KNOW you are! We've designed some basic tests to complete at the beginning, middle, and end of our program to track your improvement. 
STEP 3:
support & accountability
Every racer's journey is a little different. They start from different places, have different goals, and struggle with different areas. We keep it small so our coaches can work with you as an individual to ensure you succeed.

How Long Are Your Sessions?

Our classes are an hour. Each includes a full warm up, workout, and a cool down, which makes them easy to fit into a busy schedule.

Who is SciCoh OCR for?

SciCoh OCR is for anyone interested in doing the best they can at their next obstacle course race. Athletic or not, experienced or not, we have a place for you if you are truly ready to make a change.

But what If I am REALLY out of shape and super nervous?

Trust me when I tell you, you’ll be totally fine. We've trained athletes of all abilities including ones with disabilities. We will be able to adapt it to your ability level, I promise.

I have an injury. Can I still do the program?

In short, yes. Our program is scalable meaning we can work around old injuries, tight muscles, and creaky joints. We've even worked with adaptive athletes!

What if I can’t make it every day to train?

That's ok! Life happens, but try to make as many of the classes as you can to see best results.
